Where We Stand

We, the Priest and vestry of Grace Episcopal Church, are proud of our Anglican and Episcopal heritage and we are committed to preserving that heritage in the spirit of unity. In order to clearly state who we are, what we believe and where we stand, we declare that:

 We reaffirm our parish mission statement which provides that we are “a traditional Anglican parish committed to the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Authority of Holy Scripture, the use of The Book of Common Prayer, and providing education in a Christian environment through Grace Episcopal School. Our mission as a Christian family is to fulfill our baptismal vows by sharing Christ’s love and teachings; increasing our outreach and service to the community; and strengthening our spiritual growth, service and commitment to each other.”

 We stand firm in our adherence to the historic and apostolic faith handed down from our Lord once for all to the saints (Jude 1:3) and we reject and disassociate ourselves from all actions taken, and all statements made, in the name of The Episcopal Church that are incompatible with that historic faith tradition, including the use of civil litigation as a means to resolve church disputes (1 Corinthians 6:1-8).

 We believe that Holy Scripture is mankind’s recordation of God’s inspired word and that The Old and New Testaments contain all things necessary for salvation; that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, that He is “the way, the truth and the life,” and the only way to God (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

 We believe that Scripture teaches that Christian marriage is a sacred union ordained by God between one man and one woman (Mark 10:6-9).

We offer this statement to you, the parishioners whom we are called to serve, as a witness of our commitment to be faithful stewards of His church and bounty.
